PicoHi

The PicoHi laser is a state-of-the-art picosecond laser technology used in aesthetic treatments for skin rejuvenation, pigmentation, acne scars, and more. It operates by delivering ultra-short bursts of energy in picoseconds (one-trillionth of a second) to the skin, allowing for precise and targeted treatment of skin concerns. These pulses generate high-intensity laser energy that causes optical breakdown within the targeted tissues.  LIOB (Laser-Induced Optical Breakdown) is a specific mode used in PicoHi technology that can be effective in collagen remodelling.

LIOB works by creating an optical breakdown in the targeted skin layers. This involves the rapid heating of the tissue to the point where it causes micro-damage at a microscopic level. This breakdown stimulates a localized biological response. The energy from LIOB creates a combination of thermal and mechanical effects. The rapid pulse creates a shockwave that helps to disrupt and break down damaged skin components, including collagen and elastin fibers that contribute to the formation of aging skin.

The PicoHi laser promotes collagen regeneration by creating controlled microinjuries and generating a thermoacoustic effect, which stimulates the body’s natural collagen production process. This leads to improved skin texture, firmness, and a reduction in fine lines, making it a versatile and effective treatment for skin rejuvenation.

Benefits:

Benefits of Using PicoHi Laser for Collagen Regeneration:

Non-Invasive Treatment: PicoHi laser provides effective skin rejuvenation without the need for invasive procedures, reducing downtime and recovery periods.

Minimal Discomfort and Downtime: The picosecond laser technology minimizes thermal damage to surrounding tissues, resulting in less discomfort and faster recovery compared to traditional laser treatments.

Improved Skin Texture and Firmness: Promotes the production of new collagen and elastin, which enhances skin elasticity, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and improves overall skin texture.

Reduces Pigmentation: Addresses multiple skin concerns simultaneously by breaking down pigmentation and stimulating collagen regeneration.

Suitable for Various Skin Types: Safe for use on different skin types and tones, including those prone to pigmentation issues.

How does it work?

Mechanism of Collagen Regeneration with PicoHi Laser:

1)Creates Controlled Microinjuries:

The PicoHi laser emits ultra-short pulses of high energy that penetrate the skin to create controlled microinjuries or micro-traumas at a deeper dermal level without causing significant damage to the outer epidermis. These microinjuries serve as a trigger for the skin’s natural healing response.

2)Induces Collagen Remodeling:

When these microinjuries occur, the skin’s healing process is activated, which involves the stimulation of fibroblasts, the cells responsible for collagen production. As the skin works to repair the damage, fibroblasts produce new collagen and elastin fibers, improving skin texture, elasticity, and firmness.

3)Stimulates Thermoacoustic Waves:

The ultra-fast pulses of the PicoHi laser generate a photoacoustic (or thermoacoustic) effect, which creates a mechanical stress response in the skin. This response further stimulates collagen remodeling by breaking down old and damaged collagen fibers and encouraging the production of new, healthy collagen.

4)Enhances Skin Rejuvenation:

The laser energy delivered by the PicoHi laser penetrates deeply into the dermis, targeting the deeper layers of the skin where collagen production occurs. By promoting collagen and elastin synthesis at this level, the treatment leads to overall skin tightening, improved skin texture, reduced fine lines, and enhanced skin elasticity.

5)Reduces Pigmentation and Improves Tone:

While primarily known for collagen stimulation, the PicoHi laser also breaks down melanin, addressing pigmentation issues. This dual action of pigmentation reduction and collagen regeneration results in a more even skin tone and a rejuvenated appearance.

Individuals looking to improve skin texture, tone, and firmness.

Those seeking a non-invasive option for reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and mild to moderate skin laxity.

People with pigmentation issues, acne scars, or uneven skin tone who also want collagen stimulation.

Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

Initial Treatment Course: Typically, 3 to 6 sessions are recommended, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, depending on the individual’s skin condition and desired results.

Maintenance Treatments: After the initial series, maintenance treatments may be performed every 6 to 12 months to sustain collagen levels and skin health.
