Dermapen

Dermapen microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment designed to address various skin concerns, including acne scars, surgical scars, and other types of textural irregularities. By stimulating the body's natural healing processes, Dermapen facilitates significant improvements in scar appearance, leading to smoother and more even skin.

Benefits:

Improved Skin Texture:

Enhances overall skin texture by smoothing out irregularities, leading to a more uniform and refined surface.

Reduction of Scar Visibility:

Effectively diminishes the appearance of various types of scars, including atrophic and hypertrophic scars, resulting in a more even skin tone.

Minimally Invasive:

The procedure is minimally invasive, requiring no surgical incisions, which results in less downtime and a lower risk of complications compared to surgical scar revision.

Quick Recovery:

Most patients experience only mild redness and swelling, similar to a sunburn, which typically resolves within a few days, allowing for a quick return to normal activities.

Enhanced Absorption of Topicals:

The micro-channels created during the treatment enhance the penetration and effectiveness of topical treatments applied afterward, such as serums that promote healing and skin rejuvenation.

How does it work?

Dermapen employs a series of ultra-fine, sterile needles that penetrate the skin at precise depths, creating controlled micro-injuries in the dermis. This process initiates a wound healing response, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin—two crucial proteins responsible for skin structure and elasticity. Increased collagen production helps to fill in and soften the appearance of scars.

As the skin heals from the micro-injuries, it undergoes a remodeling phase where new collagen fibers replace the old, disorganized fibers typically found in scar tissue. This leads to improved skin texture and a reduction in the visibility of scars over time.

The mechanical action of the needles helps break down fibrous scar tissue, promoting a more uniform skin surface. This process can be particularly beneficial for atrophic scars, such as those resulting from acne.

Post-treatment, the micro-channels created by the Dermapen enhance the penetration of topical agents applied to the skin, such as serums containing growth factors, hyaluronic acid, or other reparative ingredients. This synergistic effect can accelerate healing and further improve scar appearance.

Suitable for those with various types of scars that commonly associated with acne or chickenpox, characterized by depressions in the skin.

A series of 3 to 6 sessions is often recommended, spaced approximately 4 to 6 weeks apart, to achieve optimal results, particularly for deeper or more pronounced scars.
