1064nm Pico Laser

1064nm Pico Laser is a type of picosecond laser technology that is primarily known for its effectiveness in treating pigmentation, tattoo removal, and skin rejuvenation. It can also be beneficial in the treatment of stretch marks (striae) by utilizing its unique ultra-short laser pulses to promote skin regeneration, improve skin texture, and stimulate collagen production.

Benefits:

Precise and Targeted Treatment

1064nm Pico Laser's picosecond pulses allow for precise targeting of the stretch marks while minimizing damage to the surrounding healthy skin. This precision ensures that the treatment is effective in addressing the specific characteristics of stretch marks.

Minimal Downtime

Due to its non-thermal nature and minimal damage to surrounding tissues, 1064nm Pico Laser typically involves minimal downtime. Patients can often resume their daily activities shortly after the procedure, with only mild redness or sensitivity.

Safe for All Skin Types

1064nm Pico Laser is suitable for all skin types and tones. Its advanced technology reduces the risk of hyperpigmentation or scarring, making it a safe option for diverse patient populations.

Gradual, Natural-Looking Results

The effects of 1064nm Pico Laser continue to improve over several months as the skin regenerates and new collagen is produced. This gradual process results in more natural-looking improvements in the appearance of stretch marks.

How does it work?

Ultra-Short Picosecond Pulses

1064nm Pico Laser delivers laser energy in extremely short bursts, measured in picoseconds (trillionths of a second). These ultra-short pulses create a photoacoustic effect rather than a photothermal effect, which means the laser energy breaks down skin tissue without relying heavily on heat. This minimizes damage to surrounding tissue while effectively targeting the areas with stretch marks.

Stimulation of Collagen and Elastin Production

The rapid, high-energy pulses create Laser-Induced Optical Breakdown (LIOB), it is a phenomenon that occurs when a high-intensity laser beam is focused on a target, causing the formation of a plasma-like state in the skin. This results in the creation of micro-injuries within the targeted tissue.

As a result of these micro-injuries in the deeper layers of the skin, the body’s natural healing response is triggered. This stimulates the production of collagen and elastin fibers, which are crucial for skin elasticity and strength. As new collagen is produced, the skin becomes firmer, and the appearance of stretch marks is gradually reduced. The laser also helps to tighten the skin and improve its texture over time.

1064nm Pico Laser helps to smooth out the raised or indented areas of stretch marks, leading to a more even and aesthetically pleasing skin surface.

PicoHi stimulates collagen and elastin production, improving skin texture and elasticity, and helping to reduce the appearance of older stretch marks. However, extremely deep or severe stretch marks might require additional or alternative treatments to achieve the desired results. People who are also interested in improving overall skin texture, tone, and firmness, in addition to treating stretch marks, will find 1064nm Pico Laser beneficial. Its collagen-stimulating effects can enhance skin quality beyond just stretch mark reduction.

The number of sessions required varies based on the extent and severity of the stretch marks. Typically, 3 to 6 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart are recommended for optimal results.

During the Procedure

The treatment is performed in-office and usually takes about 20 to 40 minutes per session, depending on the size of the area being treated. A topical numbing cream may be applied to minimize discomfort.

Post-Treatment Care

Post-treatment care includes managing mild redness or sensitivity, avoiding direct sun exposure, and using sunscreen to protect the treated skin. Patients are usually able to return to normal activities almost immediately.
