Dermapen
Dermapen is a microneedling device utilized in aesthetic dermatology to enhance skin appearance, including the treatment of stretch marks (striae). Stretch marks occur due to rapid skin stretching, leading to dermal tearing and alterations in collagen and elastin structures. Microneedling with Dermapen facilitates a controlled injury response, promoting skin regeneration and remodeling.

Benefits:
Improved Skin Texture:
Promotes collagen and elastin production, leading to smoother and more even skin texture.
Reduction in Stretch Mark Appearance:
Significantly diminish the visibility of both old and new stretch marks, improving overall skin appearance.
Minimal Downtime:
The procedure is minimally invasive, with most patients experiencing only mild redness and swelling that typically resolves within a few days.
Customizable Treatment:
The depth and intensity of microneedling can be adjusted based on the severity of the stretch marks and the patient's skin type, allowing for personalized care.
How does it work?
The Dermapen features a series of fine needles that penetrate the skin at controlled depths. This creates thousands of micro-injuries in the dermis, the deeper layer of the skin. The micro-injuries trigger the body’s natural healing response, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. These proteins are essential for skin elasticity and firmness.
As the skin heals, the increased collagen and elastin help remodel the dermis, improving skin texture and tone. This can reduce the appearance of both new and older stretch marks. Microneedling also enhances the absorption of topical treatments applied after the procedure. This can include serums or creams designed to further improve skin texture and pigmentation.
Suitable for those with atrophic (depressed) or hypertrophic (raised) stretch marks resulting from pregnancy, rapid weight gain or loss, puberty, or other causes.
Efficacy Timeline
Initial improvements in skin texture may be observed within a few days, with optimal results emerging progressively over 4 to 12 weeks as collagen remodeling continues.
Treatment Series
A series of 3 to 6 sessions, spaced approximately 4 to 6 weeks apart, is typically recommended to achieve significant and lasting improvements in the appearance of stretch marks.
